[四] Action/Video April 3rd
[Action: Early morning; Uzumaki House]
[After waking up somewhere in the forest and getting his bearings, the first thing Naruto did before anything else was head home. His memories were fuzzy- he had been walking through the village presumably the night before when some weird metal-people-things attacked him out of nowhere. Weird. He'd deal with that later though, because he got the feeling that after being out all night, even if it wasn't his fault, he was about to get one hell of a yelling once he set foot inside the house.
Entering the family home and closing the door behind him he waits, listening out for any noise or signs of movement. When it seems as though nobody is up yet (Geez did they just go to bed and sleep peacefully when he had been knocked out in a forest??) he begins to make his way up the stairs, calling out but not too loudly.]
Mom? ....Dad? Oi, you guys here?
[Action: Afternoon; Convenience Store]
[After everything had been sorted out at home and Naruto figured out what exactly had happened, he decided to go pay a visit to the guys in the convenience store. Hopefully Shikamaru wouldn't chew him out too badly, it wasn't his fault but being missing meant someone had to fill in and do the extra work in his place. Or maybe.. someone else was hired to take his place?? Dammit, Shikamaru.
Deciding so stick around and help out, Naruto can be found in the store for the remainder of the afternoon, helping out stocking up some shelves or just hanging out behind the counter helping himself to multiple Mountain Dew slurpees.]

[The journals are graced with a view of some sort of shop- noticeable as being the convenience store to anyone who frequents it- as Naruto props the journal up in front of him.]
Hey, do any of you guys know what those robot things are that come for people? That's what someone said they're called, they look like weird, metal people.
I remember fighting some, and having weird dreams before I woke up, but apparently they kidnapped me?! I was gone for weeks y'know!
Where do those guys take you? And what do they do anyway? They'd better not have done anything weird to me, or they're gonna pay!

Well- we're kinda on a mission? A personal mission. We battle gym leaders and other trainers to be the best!
[ -- an idea! ] How about if you show us what you can do, we'll show you what we can do!

Yosh! You go it! What kinda thing do you wanna see? Just anything?!

Yeah! I don't really know what a ninja does for real... so show me the most coolest things! You fight bad guys, don't you?

I'm gonna be Hokage one day you know! [Said as he forms some hand seals, and a second later in poofs of smoke three clones of himself appear beside him.]

But as he sees the clones appear, astonishment crosses his face. The pokémon mutter as well, with Pikachu moving in to touch one of them to see if they're real! ]
Woah! Are they the clones you were talking about!? [ Hey hey Red wants to try touching one too! ... Or more like see if his hand will go through them if he tries to wave it through them!? Just like a hologram! ]

He can't help but grin at the reaction the clones get. It's nice to show off once in a while.]
Yeah, they're my clones! [They all wave at him, and just sorta stare at red if he tries to pass his hand through them, since obviously he cannot.]

[ And that is exactly what happens. Pikachu pokes against something solid, and Red just.. hits a chest with the tips of his fingers. ]
This must be what substitute is like...! [ He looks at the Naruto he's standing in front, then uh... wait, maybe he's meant to be the one he was looking at before! ] Did you do it with that hand thing before?
[ He mimics what Naruto did. Except less actual technique and more just bumbling his hands around in front of himself. ]

Substitute? It's not like that, but I guess it also is? [In Naruto speak: It isn't Kawarimi no jutsu but kinda serves the same purpose.] But yeah! You've gotta do hand seals and use chakra to do clones like that, or any of the other jutsus. You're doing it wrong, look, it's like this!
[And he mimics the hand seals again, only slower this time.]

I don't know, it doesn't make any sense to me. [ He puts his hands back down to his sides. ] But in my world, there's pokémon that can make copies of themselves. I don't know how they do it... I've never seen it used much.
[ He looks down to Pikachu. ] But Pikachu can make it look like he's got copies. Right, Pikachu?
[ Pii! Goes the pokémon. And he flips backwards from where he stands, away from the other pokémon and the Naruto clones to an open space. And with what looks like the start of a dash in his legs, a secondary Pikachu appears, and then the same quick motion again - and a third.
The three Pikachus jump up, flipping up into the air before landing back down in time with each other before the two copies disappear. For a trained eye like Naruto it may have been easy to notice which were the copies by tiny flickers in their forms. Other than that, and some slight transparency, they're perfect copies. ]

Woah! Yeah, it's almost the same! Are you sure they're not summons?! Where I come from, sometimes people can make summon pacts with animals and they come fight with you! And can do jutsu kinda like that! Except most the ones I know, they're huge! bigger than a house!

But pokémon... maybe it's a little like a pact. We capture pokémon in pokéballs, then we train them to work with us. That's what a trainer is. Each pokémon can do different things -- Pikachu can move really fast, Snorlax can hit really hard, and Ivysaur can use grass and poison attacks and throw you off!

because saying one is a common pokéball and the other's a great ball might be worth mentioning. ]Uh huh. It doesn't matter how it looks! It can be even smaller than this if I want it. [ Which is exactly what he does - pressing the button, it resizes down drastically in comparison, dropping into his hand to barely the size of a walnut. He turns his hand, palm facing upward, so Naruto can see. ]
Don't ask me how it works. I don't have a clue.

How many've those have you got? Back home, I could summon these huge toads!! Do you have toad ones?!

They sorta hop around and live in ponds! And eat insects!

Uhhh, heheh- [ Okay, okay, he's trying to think. ] I guess poliwag does that? They don't always walk well... but they swim around in water, and they get arms later on.

[ And since Naruto will likely ask- ] Magikarp's a red fish that turns really huge when it evolves, and wartortle's got a shell on its back. He's about this size right now [ he makes a measurement near his hip ] but he'll get even bigger when he evolves again!
