[四] Action/Video April 3rd

[Action: Early morning; Uzumaki House]

[After waking up somewhere in the forest and getting his bearings, the first thing Naruto did before anything else was head home. His memories were fuzzy- he had been walking through the village presumably the night before when some weird metal-people-things attacked him out of nowhere. Weird. He'd deal with that later though, because he got the feeling that after being out all night, even if it wasn't his fault, he was about to get one hell of a yelling once he set foot inside the house.

Entering the family home and closing the door behind him he waits, listening out for any noise or signs of movement. When it seems as though nobody is up yet (Geez did they just go to bed and sleep peacefully when he had been knocked out in a forest??) he begins to make his way up the stairs, calling out but not too loudly.]

Mom? ....Dad? Oi, you guys here?

[Action: Afternoon; Convenience Store]

[After everything had been sorted out at home and Naruto figured out what exactly had happened, he decided to go pay a visit to the guys in the convenience store. Hopefully Shikamaru wouldn't chew him out too badly, it wasn't his fault but being missing meant someone had to fill in and do the extra work in his place. Or maybe.. someone else was hired to take his place?? Dammit, Shikamaru.

Deciding so stick around and help out, Naruto can be found in the store for the remainder of the afternoon, helping out stocking up some shelves or just hanging out behind the counter helping himself to multiple Mountain Dew slurpees.]

[The journals are graced with a view of some sort of shop- noticeable as being the convenience store to anyone who frequents it- as Naruto props the journal up in front of him.]

Hey, do any of you guys know what those robot things are that come for people? That's what someone said they're called, they look like weird, metal people.

I remember fighting some, and having weird dreams before I woke up, but apparently they kidnapped me?! I was gone for weeks y'know!

Where do those guys take you? And what do they do anyway? They'd better not have done anything weird to me, or they're gonna pay!

Hearing Naruto's voice throughout the night when she's dreaming isn't new to Kushina. But now instead of sitting up and searching the house for him only to end up disappointed again, she just shuts her eyes tight and tells herself she is glad he's back where he belongs and he doesn't have to get caught up in experiments and drafts and missions and the Malnosso or Third Parties.

Even if there is a war going on back where he's from and its hardly any better than anything here. It's still home. That's where he belongs.

That's where he belongs.

When she's dreaming though, she can't school her features or hide the emptiness that hasn't gone away after more than a week of her missing son. She angrily grabs her pillow and buries her head under it.

Her voice is muffled, furious, and it breaks.]

Go away.

[He'd just managed to get to their bedroom door by the time he heard it.

Go away.

He'd expected then to rush up- either be worried or annoyed, but he hadn't expected a reaction like this. She must really be angry with him right now, and being told to leave hurt in a way that no amount of yelling could live up to.]

....Mom?

[After debating it for a moment, he grabs the handle to their bedroom door, slowly and softly pushing it open.]

ACTUAL TEARS NARUTO NO

[That voice sure is persistent this time and she's not even dreaming anymore. Probably. She doesn't want to wake up Minato so she tugs the pillow off of her head, planning on getting ready for the day, just in time to hear the quiet creak of the door.

Irritation leaves her so quickly she feels winded. Yet she's still able to whip around and stare at the person standing in the door frame. For a moment, she thinks it's still a dream. Or maybe the Malnosso are messing with her again.

She doesn't care.

Kushina nearly trips in her rush to get to him, catching herself with fingers brushing the ground before she slams into him and wraps her arms around him so tightly she's crushing him to her like she's trying to force his body into hers. She expects to find nothing, for her arms to find air, but he's solid. He's here. And in her arms.]

Naruto! Naruto!!

[So much for not waking up Minato.

Tears come easily now after weeks of keeping them back. But they're tears of relief and joy. They're loud messy tears as she buries her face into his dirty clothes.]

You're back.

[Ginia's writing comes slowly as she picks her words. The memories of her own kidnapping are too fresh in her mind, much too real at moments. That he's been taken for weeks and doesn't remember... maybe he's lucky in a way.]

The guide calls them droids.

They take you to a lab, run tests and experiments on you.

Yeah, but what? I don't really remember anything from that place except the droid thingies. I want to know what it is they did to me, and where that place is.

[There's a lot that Lee can explain to Naruto! But after he finishes welling up with tears.]

[Sometimes you just need snacks; Sakura's not entirely immune to the lure of junk food. and it's a happy thing she decided to come by today, because there's her missing teammate, back again.]

Naruto!

[She's smiling brightly at the sight of him, and takes a few quick steps to come over close.]

It's good to see you again - are you all right?

[It's good to see another familiar face.]

I'm okay, er- I think anyway? Yeah! You weren't worried about me where ya?

[Some loud, hollow clanging can probably be heard from the backroom. The giant pizza oven that's remained from this building's days as Azzip's could be worthwhile someday in the future, if they can ever figure out what to do with it. For the time being, it's more of a place to set heavy stuff if you don't want to drop it on the ground.]

Be right there! [Shikamaru shouts from the back, maneuvering a few things more and assuming this is a customer. Chances are they way they run things, he won't be needed lickitysplit anyways, but you know. Courtesy and shit.

That and anyone who works here could just walk back, so.]

[Hearing Shikamaru's voice coming from the back, Naruto follows it until he spots the other ninja, stopping about ten feet behind him and leaning against he wall there.]

You were gone? Didn't notice. [She did, but... It's Temari. What'd you expect?]

[There's someone else in the convenience store who is stocking the shelves as well, though they're not doing a very good job of it. While all the bags of candy and chips they're putting up are positioned very neatly they're in the completely wrong places. Having at least made the shelves look nice, even if they have the wrong stuff on them, Erica approaches Naruto with a question.]

Excuse me, are you a customer? I was wondering if you could help me find where the cereal goes. [It's not the sort of question a clerk should be asking a customer, but oh well.]

[Oh.. someone he doesn't recognise.] I'm not a customer, I work here y'know? Uh- at least I did, and I think I still do? I dunno, I was gone for a while.

action, sometime after Naruto's post, convenient store

[ It taken exactly five seconds for Kakashi to close his journal, put on his shoes, and exit his apartment (out the balcony) the moment he catches Naruto's journal post. It had been far too long that Naruto had been gone from Luceti, and as the days dragged on, Kakashi had been worried that he might never return.

Naruto's name in the journal had confirmed that he hadn't been sent home, as Kushina and Minato might have believed, but that instead he had been kidnapped by the Malnosso for a mission. It was the only thing Kakashi could think would make sense for Naruto's sudden disappearance, but he hadn't expected him to be away for so long.

It doesn't take him long to make his way from Flame Building to the convenience store, and he comes to a stop in front of the doors, then more or less forces the tension out of his shoulders and relaxes into somewhat of his usual slouch before strolling right into the shop, gaze sweeping the store for a flash of blond, and -- ah, there he is. ]

Naruto.

[ It's light and relaxed, as usual. Not a hint of the worry or concern Kakashi had for the boy. ]

[Once he hears the familiar voice of his sensei that blond tuft of hair springs up as Naruto stands from his crouching position in front of one of the shelves.]

Kakashi-sensei! Yo!

The Malnosso. It's a common occurrence. I'm surprised you haven't been taken before now.

I've been taken before myself, but I couldn't tell you where it was to or what was done while I was there.

[He knows it happened to Sasuke once, last year around October, but he can't recall any other times he knew of it happening.]

[ Well there was someone hired. The Convenience Store, that is. Oops. But more importantly, Masaomi comes in to do his shift and uselessly says, ironically, ]
