[There's no sensible way to explain this, but whatever, at least Naruto's fucking asking for once.]
If I feel like being alone, I want you to respect that. It's not about you, dobe, it's about not wanting to be around anybody.
[A pause. Sasuke turns back away, not to turn his back on Naruto so much as to let his eyes move across the sunrise. When he speaks, his words are quieter, in fact low enough to barely be above a whisper, but in the silence of dawn, Naruto should hear them.]
I don't always want to be left alone.
[Not recently. It's hard to figure out what he does want beyond that, though. It's part of why he came over. Good luck getting him to say all that out loud, though.]
[He didn't think it was just about him, but it's still good to hear it. Still leaning against the windowsill and now saying much, he opens his mouth to respond to it when he catches that last remark, just barely.
I don't always want to be alone.
He wonders if that is the case right now, after all Sasuke did come over here to see him. When he speaks again it's quieter than before, his voice no longer full of frustration as it had been a moment ago.]
[There's a long silence. Sasuke deeply considers just hopping off the roof and leaving without a word. Just to teach Naruto a lesson. To even the score.]
[But he really wasn't exaggerating about not wanting to be alone.]
[It takes him a minute or two to respond, weighing making a point against making himself even more miserable than usual. (Complicating things is the part of him that's still sure he deserves the misery he's brought on himself over the last four years or more.)]
[He's not sure what it is, exactly, that tips the scale of his decision, but he turns again, facing the blond and his open window for a moment. Then, quietly:]
Sure.
[He doesn't really look at Naruto as he approaches to climb in through the window.]
[He waited so long that Naruto wasn't sure if Sasuke was going to take him up on the offer.
But he does, and Naruto offers a slight smile as he backs away from the window to let him in. He has no idea what they will actually do once they are both inside, but something. Hang out and talk? Breakfast?]
[Sasuke may not be hungry but he is, though he can wait a while since hanging out with Sasuke is better right now.
The scent of ramen reaches him and he remembers the discarded gift on his bedside table, moving to sit down on the top end of his bed and put the lid back on it for now. Maybe he'll go grab some chopsticks in a minute.]
You can sit down or something you know? You don't have to stand there.
[There's the other end of his bed, the floor, wherever.]
[Sasuke scoffs a little when Naruto puts the lid back on the ramen... though the edge of a smile's crept back onto his lips just the same. Right. Naruto. Nothing with him is exactly formal, so it probably doesn't matter that Sasuke has no idea what he's doing. He opts for the bed, partially so he can gently nudge the other teen with his elbow.]
I brought you breakfast, moron, you should eat it. It's better still warm than when you heat it up again.
[Yeah, Sasuke maybe didn't get a lot of sleep last night. The ramen is fresh.]
I thought you'd probably say something if I sat here ignoring you over ramen.
[But if Sasuke says it's okay-- it takes barely a second for him reach back over for the bowl with a grin, removing the lid once again and just frisbee-ing it back onto the sidetable as he hunts for chopsticks (he finds some, used and sitting in an empty ramen cup, but they're from last night so they are totally okay right?)]
Heh.
[He sits back down, legs crossed as he tries his first mouthful of noodles.]
Yeah, and instead I said something about you ignoring your birthday present. Deal with it.
[Once Naruto has started in, though, Sasuke toes off his shoes and slides further back on Naruto's bed, to sit cross-legged himself more towards the middle of the width. He still has no fucking idea what he's doing, but he's giving it a shot, right?]
Good. If you didn't like it I'd say there's something wrong with you.
[It's much better than the bowls he remembers having at Ichiraku, in Sasuke's opinion. Then again, that might be because it's one of his mother's recipes.]

C'mon Sasuke! I thought you wanted me to leave you alone, why're you complaining?
[The last couple times he stopped by you weren't exactly overly welcoming.]

Are ya hungry?

I already ate.
[He doesn't really get any farther than just inside the window, though, hands sliding into his pockets. He's not sure if he should sit, or...]
[...Really, he's still not sure how to do this hanging out thing.]

Of course I'm gonna like it, it's- [Trying to talk with noodles in your mouth is hard.] It's ramen.
...Good ramen. Where'd you get it from? [He will have to track this place down and get more.]
